ye olde Flipside Hats circa 2004

Flipside hats were first made in a rugged unfinished basement in 2004.  It was a one-woman operation and every hat was one of a kind and reversible; literally no two hats were the same.  It was a passionate hobby that Kori loved, and it paid her way through medical school.  In 2005, hat sales started bringing in enough revenue, Flipside Hats registered as an official business in the city of Portland, Oregon.  The name came naturally, as “Flip” was the nickname given to Kori by her favorite grandmother, and the hats were all reversible.  Hence, Flipside Hats was born.

Since its inception, Flipside Hats has steadily grown without any advertising or marketing.  A website was put together for Flipside by developer Nic Marson in exchange for a lifetime supply of hats, and from there Flipside Hats grew in popularity, garnering the attention and business of satisfied wholesale stockists all along the western seaboard.

Flipside Hats has always supported recycled and eco-friendly materials in the fashion world by using up-cycled and organic fabrics.

Dedication to our community is important to us, and we support NW families and local groups by donating a portion of our sales to the communities we serve.  We employ 100% domestic production.
